U of L Researchers Receive Grants From Federal Government

LETHBRIDGE - Five social science and humanities researchers at the University of Lethbridge have received grants from the Federal Government that total almost $675,000.

The projects cover a wide range of research topics such as disability, sexuality and parenting in Alberta, as well as Buddhism in Canada, and the long term cultural impact of renowned Canadian classical pianist Glenn Gould.

The recipients are Dr. Claudia Malacrida, Dr. John Harding, Dr. Craig Monk, Dr. Goldie Morgentaler, and Dr. Mickey Vallee.

The U of L's Vice President of Research Dr. Dan Weeks says the funding illustrates the university's growing prominence in social sciences and humanities research.

The projects will be funded over three to five year periods.
