44-Year Old Man Suffers Serious Head Injury in Hit and Run

LETHBRIDGE: 24-year old Luke Everett Dennington of Lethbridge has been charged in connection with a pedestrian hit and run at a downtown nightclub last month.

Around 2:45-AM September 21st, a group of people were involved in a physical altercation outside the establishment along the 200 block of 5th Street South. Two males who were involved in altercation climbed into a vehicle, at which point the drivers side window was smashed.

The driver put the vehicle into reverse and drove towards a group, thinking that they were responsible for breaking the window, and ended up hitting a 44-year old man who had nothing to do with the incident. The vehicle then fled the scene.

The victim remains in a Calgary hospital with serious, long-term head injuries.

Dennington has been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, dangerous driving causing bodily harm and hit and run.

He has been released from custody, with a court appearance set for October 31st.
