LETHBRIDGE: According to Seattle Police Department officials, 48-year old Michael Sean
Stanley was found in downtown Seattle on Thursday and was ordered to register as
a sex offender.
He wasn't arrested because Canadian authorities
have declined to try extraditing him. However, Seattle police say Stanley could
be arrested if he fails to register as a sex offender.
has a long history of sexual offences against women and children and had been
missing since October 1st, when he cut off his electronic-monitoring bracelet at
or near Lloydminster, on the Alberta-Saskatchewan
Regional Police confirmed Stanley was in Lethbridge
Friday, October 4th and his vehicle was found at a west side home the following
Edmonton Police say Stanley crossed the border from BC
into Blaine, Washington, on that Monday night. In a news conference two days
later, Detective Chris Hayduk stated the Edmonton police service had notified
the appropriate agencies in the United States.
American Citizenship, which may mean he didn't need a passport. Although Stanley
is the subject of a Canada-wide arrest warrant, he has no outstanding warrants
in the U-S and justice officials in Canada don't have the legal power to arrest
