LETHBRIDGE: When it comes to undergraduate universities the University of Lethbridge
continues to rank near the top.
Research Infosource released its list of the Top-50 Research Universities
early Thursday and the U-of-L maintained its top-three ranking among
undergraduate institutes, ranked first in terms of total number of publications
and third in publication intensity.
The U-of-L was named Research University of the Year in the Undergraduate
Category last year.
It was noted that all Alberta universities and lower general scores over the
past year due to reduced provincial and corporate funding. In spite of that,
Dr. Dan Weeks, U-of-L Vice-President, Research, notes the quality of research
at the local institution is still recognized as among the best in the country.
He says the U-of-L has also made it a priority that research which it conducts
impacts society as a whole and not just immediate research stakeholders.
According to a news released from the U-of-L, "Research Infosource is
Canada's leading provider of research intelligence for business and higher
education". Information for the Top 50 Research University rankings is
