drug investigation resulted in a search warrant being executed on a city home on
Friday, October 11th and the arrest of two city men.
The investigation involved the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit -
Lethbridge, along with assistance from the Regional Police Service.
The two suspects, who were residents of the home, were in possession of crack
and powder cocaine, and proceeds of crime.
A woman was arrested a short time later outside the home.
In total, 47.2 grams of powder cocaine, 13.4 grams of crack cocaine and $2220
in cash (the proceeds of crime) were seized. The street value of the cocaine is
estimated at about $6060.00.
23-year old Mohamed Ahmed Abdullahi of Lethbridge was charged with 2 counts
of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and 1 count of possession of
proceeds of crime under $5000.00.
24-year old Mohamed Mohamud Aly of Lethbridge, is charged with two counts of
possession for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of proceeds of crime
The woman arrested was released with no charges.
Abdullahi and Aly made an initial appearance in Lethbridge provincial court on
Tuesday, October 15th.
