The Combines For Cure Man Van Rolls Into Lethbridge

Lethbridge: UFA and the Alberta Prostate Cancer Center have come up with a unique way to get more men tested for prostate cancer.

They're traveling around the province with the "Combines for Cure Man Van" and are offering free blood testing to men over 40 that helps in the early detection of prostate cancer. The "Man Van" will be in Lethbridge at the UFA Farm Supply Store on 2nd Avenue North on Monday from 11am to 2pm.

Rudy Nordin with UFA says "now days everybody is so busy. Our member base is mostly farmers and they're all stubborn, they don't want to go see the doctor, they don't got time, so this van actually goes to them and you don't have to make an appointment, just have to show up and get the test done."

The stats are pretty alarming. One in seven men will develop prostate cancer in their lifetime. 2500 men will be diagnosed annually and eight men will die from it every week.
