FORT MACLEOD: RCMP have been investigating damage that occurred to eleven vehicles at a
local Chrysler Dealership on Wednesday, October 16th. Since that date several
other reports of similar mischief have occurred to another dealership, a garage
that fixes vehicles and private vehicles that had been parked along the roadway
within Fort Macleod.
Damage to the vehicles appears to be random in nature and the work of
possibly one or two individuals who are traveling around the Fort Macleod during
the late night and early morning hours.
Fort Macleod residents and business owners need to keep vehicles parked in
well lit areas. If you see suspicious persons out walking around aimlessly or in
areas that no one should be near at the time of day please call 911.
Unlike previous mischief incidents in the area the culprit(s) this time are damaging
the vehicles for fun and not for profit.
The Fort Macleod RCMP and the Citizens on Patrol are working in conjunction
to address this issue. Mischief is a serious criminal crime punishable by high
fines and incarceration.
Anyone with information related to these incidents, should contact the Fort
Macleod RCMP Detachment at 403-553-7200 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477
