Three Accused in Local Ponzi Scheme Close to Setting Trial Date

LETHBRIDGE: Three Lethbridge residents charged with fraud over two years ago, are finally on the verge of setting a trial date.

Marisa Campanelli-Pittarelli, Anthony Pittarelli and Claudia Pittarelli are accused of running a massive ponzi scheme through Front Row Tickets, which defrauded hundreds of investors in Canada and the United States.

Part of the reason for the delay came from the Crown, as they had concerns about a possible conflict of interest with one lawyer representing all three accused. Tuesday afternoon in court the Crown dropped the application, saying they no longer have concerns and that one lawyer will continue to represent the trio.

A trial date will be set next week, however because three weeks is needed for the trial, it's anticipated that it won't actually happen until early 2015.
