Exhibition Park Helps Out Local Food Banks

LETHBRIDGE - Local food banks got a boost from Exhibition Park on Monday morning.

They donated $1,000 each to the Lethbridge Food Bank and the Interfaith Food Bank as part of the Dream Big in 2013 campaign launched by the International Association of Fairs and Expositions, which Lethbridge Exhibition Park is a member of.

Executive Director of the Interfaith Food Bank Danielle McIntyre says "at this time of year it's our busiest season and we are projecting to serve 2,000 households this Christmas, which means there's a lot of food to buy and $2,000 goes a long way when we can multiply that by four and purchase a whole lot more healthy, good food to go in our hampers."
