UofL And Lethbridge College Receive A Share of $50-Million In Provincial Funding
LETHBRIDGE: The University of Lethbridge and Lethbridge College have received a boost from the provincial government, along with 18 other publicly funded Campus Alberta institutions.
The UofL is getting $2.4-million while the college gets just over $1-million.
In total the province announced $50-million in funding to post-secondary institutions, in an attempt to ease current enrolment pressures and prepare for even greater ones next year, caused by provincial cuts from earlier this year.
UofL President Mike Mahon noted that they took a 7.3-per cent cut, and they're getting 2.6-per cent back with this announcement.
All of the institutions will get to decide which programs will be expanded and by how much.
The University of Alberta received the greatest share of the funding at $14.4-million.
