Angel Tree Campaign Kicks Off

LETHBRIDGE - The 2013 Angel Tree Campaign is up and running to collect gifts for children in need in our community.

It's a joint initiative of Lethbridge Family Services and 1st Choice Savings.

To help out, you can have an angel tree at your business or organization and collect gifts, you can choose an angel from the tree at any participating site and drop off an unwrapped gift, or you can make a cash donation at Lethbridge Family Services main office at 1107 2a Ave North or any 1st Choice Savings branch.

Interim CEO of Lethbridge Family Services Sonny Zgurski says the program started 21 years ago and "in 1992 we had given gifts to 300 children in the community and last year we supported 1,300 children, so it's been going up year after year."

Gifts will be collected until December 19th, when volunteers will begin wrapping and delivering them throughout the community.
