Winter Storms Expected To Hit Southern Alberta Hard

 
 

Southern Alberta: A blizzard warning is in effect for much of Southern Alberta including, Lethbridge, Taber, Milk River, Okotoks, High River, Claresholm, Brooks, Strathmore, and Vulcan.

 

Blizzard conditions will develop tonight and tomorrow. An intense winter storm will move through Alberta today into Monday. Heavy snow has begun in Northwestern Alberta this morning and will spread southeastward to Southeastern Alberta by Monday afternoon. 10 to 20 centimetres of snow  is expected. Some areas may be hit by 30 centimeters of the white stuff by Tuesday.

 

To top of the snow fall, winds gusting up to 60 kilometers an hour with usher in cold arctic air. There may also be patches of freezing rain Sunday afternoon.

 

Cardston, Fort Macleod, Magrath, Pincher Creek, Crownest Pass and Waterton have a Winter Storm Warning in effect. These areas are expected to be hit with heavy snow and blowing snow beginning tonight and tomorrow.
