LETHBRIDGE: The sexual assault trial of a 39-year old
Lethbridge man has been put on hold, because he doesn't have a lawyer.
The man can't be named as he's accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting his
16-year old step daughter and her 16-year old friend during the summer of
His lawyer withdrew from the case last month, and since then he hasn't been
able to find a replacement, with the trial scheduled to start next Monday. The
man also can't represent himself at trial, as he is not allowed to cross-examine
the victims himself.
He was given until January 22nd to find a new lawyer and set a new trial
