LRPS Incident Call Confirmed as Sudden Death

LETHBRIDGE: Up-Date     Regional Police were called to deal with an incident just off Scenic Drive South on Thursday afternoon.

Around 5:00-pm, a witness reported to Country 95 News that they saw a figure under a sheet in a back parking lot and that the area was cordoned off by yellow tape. Witnesses also reported seeing police officers taking photos of a car.

Late Thursday evening, a Police statement confirmed an investigation into a sudden death, after a body was found in a grassy area near the 200 block of Scenic Drive South.

The body has been identified as a 60-year-old man who was previously reported missing.  The Criminal Investigation Section is investigating but, there is no evidence to suggest foul play at this time.

As the incident does not appear to be criminal in nature no further information will be released.
