Regional Police Warn about High Risk Offender Living in Lethbridge

 
 

LETHBRIDGE:    The Regional Police Service has been advised by RCMP that a recently released High Risk Offender is now residing in Lethbridge.

 

Keegan Spear Chief, was released from Grand Cache Institution on Friday, January 17th, an almost three sentence for assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, assault, voyeurism, fail to comply with a probation order and fail to comply with a recognizance.

 

Spear Chief, who is 28, has a history of sexual and violent offences and information contained in his file indicates he is a high risk to re-offend against adult females. Spear Chief poses a significant risk of harm to the community.

 

Spear Chief is bound by numerous conditions including:

 

-- A daily curfew from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.

-- A prohibition from possessing or consuming alcohol or controlled substances

-- A prohibition from having any contact with his victims

-- A prohibition from possessing any knives except for work purposes, or any restricted or prohibited weapons

-- Requirement to participate in and complete sexual offender assessment, treatment and counselling as directed

-- A prohibition from entering into any close, personal, intimate or romantic relationship or cohabitation with a female until police have been notified and had an opportunity to inform her of Spear Chief’s criminal history

 

Police believe there is a significant risk to the health or safety of the public.

 

The above information has been released by Police after considering all related issues, including privacy concerns, in the belief that it is clearly in the public interest to be informed of Spear Chief's presence.

 

The public is cautioned not not to embark on any form of vigilante action.
