No Plans To Rebuild Kilmorey Lodge As 5th Anniversary Of Fire Passes
LETHBRIDGE: It was five years ago to the day on January 20th
that the Kilmorey Lodge in Waterton Lakes National Park burned to the ground,
with fire investigators blaming the spontaneous combustion of laundry.
The rebuild still hasn't started, with a number of regulations and the
development of a new community plan for the park initially holding things
Park officials noted last year that while owner Locklynn Craig did bring
forward several proposals, they were all in excess of the size restrictions in
place in Waterton. They noted that they would be happy to work something out, as
long as it fits into what's allowed in the park.
Through an associate, Craig recently acknowledged that after some time with
no contact with the park, a meeting has been set up with Parks Canada in
