Group Rallies Against Closure Of Veteran Affairs Offices
LETHBRIDGE - A small group rallied at the Lethbridge Cenotaph on Friday morning, protesting
the decision to close eight veteran affairs service branch offices across the
Members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada and the local
Canadian Union of Postal Workers joined the cause.

Finnigan says these closures will increase the distance of travel for veterans
to get support. Even though Lethbridge does not have one of these offices, he
says the group wanted to show veterans that communities all across Canada are
being affected by austerity programs and service cuts.
