Albertan Gets Jacket Stolen By A Black Bear
A guy named Paolo was hiking a trail near Kananaskis when he wound up wandering away from another group on his journey. He found himself alone on his hike, but not completely. He came face to face with a bear, who he tried to talk to and stay calm with and back away. The bear started following him and he tried to throw eggs and protein bars to the bear to make it go away and eat his food instead.
The bear didn’t let up, and Paolo hid behind a tree to of course…pull out a video camera because that’s what we do these days. The bear walked up, snatched his jacket incredibly fast, and he managed to catch up to a big group of hikers who were nearby.
The group had bear spray with them, and together were able to frighten the bear off. According to Parks Canada, hikers should be carrying bear spray at all times, and you should know how to use it.
